Those avatars are great for training videos, product demos, marketing content, and any scenario where the content is prepared in advance.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>But what if the avatar needs to interact with users in real time?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Imagine an employee asking a question and getting an immediate response from a digital human. Or a virtual assistant that can hold a natural conversation instead of simply playing a pre-generated video. This is where Azure AI Speech Avatar&#8217;s real-time capabilities come into play.<\/p>\n<p>In this blog, We&#8217;ll explore how Azure enables real-time conversational avatars using WebRTC and where such avatars can create value for enterprise applications.<\/p>\n<h4>Moving Beyond Pre-Recorded Avatars<\/h4>\n<p>Traditional avatar video generation follows a simple flow. As speech is synthesized, the avatar immediately begins speaking with synchronized lip movements and facial expressions.<\/p>\n<p>The end result is a digital human capable of responding almost instantly.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike traditional video generation workflows, the avatar remains available throughout the conversation, making interactions feel continuous and dynamic.<\/p>\n<h4>Architecture at a Glance<\/h4>\n<p>A typical real-time avatar solution consists of several services working together.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The user interacts through a web or mobile application. Real-time avatars, however, bring interaction into the picture. They combine speech synthesis, conversational AI, and visual representation to create digital humans that feel more engaging and approachable.<\/p>\n<p>As AI-powered assistants become increasingly common, adding a face and voice to those interactions can help bridge the gap between traditional chatbots and truly immersive digital experiences.<\/p>\n<p>With Azure AI Speech Avatar and WebRTC, developers now have the tools to build conversational digital humans that can interact, respond, and engage users in real time.<\/p>\n<h4>Conclusion<\/h4>\n<p>Real-time avatars are transforming how users interact with AI systems.
