Since then, a lot of planning applications have been introduced into the market ensuring more automation, collaboration, reliability &amp; accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>Over the period, organizations have started shifting from manual spreadsheet-based planning to more advanced, automated, cloud-based planning solutions with great results. However, in certain cases, organization finds it hard to upskill their users who are still dependent on spreadsheet for their day-to-day activities. \u00a0To resolve this issue, product owners have started integrating excel with planning models &amp; it has been a huge success, especially for those who still wishes to use spreadsheet for day-to-day activities. Like any other products available in the market, Anaplan has also introduced a new feature \u201cExcel Add-In\u201d by integrating MS Excel with the planning application.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">What is Anaplan Excel Add-in?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a feature by which user can easily edit\/change data without accessing the tool directly in real time. User can access data from modules &amp; saved views in real time. Although, this is not a new feature introduced by Anaplan recently, however, it has come a long way from initial \u201c1-way connection\u201d to \u201c2-way connection\u201d now<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1-way connection \u2013 user can view &amp; edit data in excel but cannot push back to Anaplan<\/li>\n<li>2-way connection \u2013 user can view, edit &amp; submit data into the tool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This feature doesn\u2019t come with any additional cost &amp; it\u2019s part of overall subscription fee<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Benefits of Excel Add-in<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Export multiple views and populate these data points into pre-determined cells (in an Excel workbook)<\/li>\n<li>User can pivot and filter data before pulling data into Excel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Limitation<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a limit of 1 million cells which can be exported, to avoid overloading and crashing Excel<\/li>\n<li>Doesn\u2019t allow subsidiary views.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">How to integrate Excel Add-in with Anaplan<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install Excel Add-in 4.2 EXE file<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that your device meets all prerequisites<\/li>\n<li>Once, installation is complete, open an excel file &amp; click on Sign-In<\/li>\n<li>Click on New to create connection with tool. There are 2 options available \u2013\n<ul>\n<li>New Read Only Connection \u2013 Read access only<\/li>\n<li>New Read\/Write Connection \u2013 Read &amp; Write access (User will be able to update\/edit data)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Connection established<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">How to integrate Excel Add-in with Anaplan<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once, the connection is established, select the module, or saved view<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-769\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.infosys.com\/infosys-cobalt\/storage\/2022\/03\/img1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next, click on the POV to select the required dimensions (Figures which are highlighted in blue are editable)<\/li>\n<li>Edit the figures &amp; click on \u201cSend &amp; Refresh\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Next, click on Submit.
